Research to Inform
Tiny Chef
Tiny Chef has always been one of my favorite examples of stop motion because it shows how simple yet intricate a story can be. So while he’s just packing up a pie, the movement is so smooth and allows the story to naturally flow.
Western Spaghetti
PES always has spectacular stop motion pieces that think outside the box such as “Western Spaghetti” which uses everyday objects as the ingredients to make spaghetti. It is very well done and highly viewed.
Marcel The Shell With Shoes On
Marcel the Shell! I used to watch Marcel all the time growing up, he is a great example of effective stop motion.
Lost and Found
I love the use of the yarn and crochet characters in this stop motion piece. I think it’s cool to see how each piece is incorporated. there was also a behind the scenes videos from this piece that I came across that showed what it was really like to move within each frame which I thought was super cool (you can view that here)!
Stop plastic pollution
This paper based stop motion shows that not everything has to be super complicated when it comes to stop motion. Even though it is simple, it is effective.
Create

A little trial done with play dough! Moving forward, I’d like to make it a little smoother and less choppy – but for a trail run, I’m happy with how it turned out!
